In the United States, most people have an individualistic attitude. Considering that the U.S. is built on the notion that with hard work, anyone, from any background, can one day be successful, the fact that most people are most concerned with their own journey is not all that surprising. Since so many of us are preoccupied with making sure we have a job, a decent place to call home, and of course, enough food and water to survive. With all of these issues taking up space in our minds, it can become very easy to step outside of ourselves and consider the struggles the other species on this planet have.
We pass stray dogs on the street without a second thought, we see one animal attacking another and chalk it up to nature, and we go to pet shops, even when we know that there are millions of animals waiting in shelters for a kind person to give them a second chance at life. While there are certainly kind citizens in the world who lend a hand when an animal is in trouble and try to make educated decisions that will better animal welfare on a grand scale, there is one group of compassionate individuals who have consistently gone above and beyond for animals, specifically those in India.
The workers at Animal Aid Unlimited never give up on an animal in need – even in situations when it seemed like animals were on the brink of death. We’ve seen them help dogs with missing limbs and mange, make life better for street cows, and even help an abused donkey. It’s clear that no challenge is too big for these folks, at least they make it seem that way. And for that we applaud them. Thanks for all of the amazing work, Animal Aid!
