Messy pens are never an issue when Geri the rescued orangutan is on the job! Geri is a permanent resident at the Center for Great Apes and she enjoys spending most of her time playing with toys and dress-up clothes. Doesn’t it remind you of something a little kid would do?

Sadly, this sweet orangutan’s life wasn’t always so joyful. Geri started out as an ape in the entertainment industry. After years of being forced to perform in movies, Geri was deemed “too old” for films and instead became a “breeder” ape. Thankfully, Geri, her mate Sammy, and their child Jam were all rescued from this life and now live together at the Center for Great Apes. Hooray for happy endings!
