At the Rose Lane trailer park in Laurel, Mississippi, a woman witnessed a storage container being thrown out of a black truck. Upon inspecting the container, she was stunned to discover six little puppies – who had just been abandoned on the street. Luckily, the rescuer knew exactly what to do. The woman was not able to get the tag number of the car, but she contacted the sheriffs right away. Thanks to her, the police are working on the incident … and most importantly, the puppies are safe at the Southern Cross Animal Rescue (SCAR).
The six puppies are around five to six weeks old. They are now at the shelter, but it is not an ideal place for babies like them so the rescue is looking for foster homes.
At a foster home, a young puppy will not only get much needed individual care but the opportunity to live with people and get socialized. For abandoned puppies, a foster home is the second best option (after a forever home, of course) – and in this case, SCAR will provide all supplies to their foster parents during the pups’ stay.
If you are interested in fostering one or more of the puppies, message the organization via their Facebook page.
