It is the sad truth that farm animals rarely get the care they deserve. Cows, pigs, sheep are often treated like their lives have no other purpose than to serve us – like they have no right to live on their own. Although it is a ridiculous idea to believe that farm animals are inherently lesser and do not feel or suffer like dogs or cats – or, really, humans – but tragically, that is exactly what many people think.
But there is the other side to this as well – the countless people and organizations who do realize what intelligent, emotional, and wonderful creatures farm animals really are.
Estelita, a little lamb recently rescued by Santuario Igualdad, encountered exactly such people and thanks to them, she is now not only alive but getting the best care possible. This poor baby was in an extremely delicate state when she arrived at the sanctuary, but now she is steadily returning to health, getting bigger and stronger, surrounded by love and affection. Sleeping among soft blankets, regularly fed, and clad in a little outfit that keeps her warm, she finally has a chance to feel perfectly safe.
