New York City's First Doughnut Shop is Open for Business

After much anticipation and fanfare, Dunwell Doughnuts opened their storefront on 222 Montrose Ave in East Williamsburg this week funded by their successful Indiegogo campaign.

Founders Christopher Hollowell and Daniel Dunbar state as their mission: “to be the premiere vegan doughnut shop on planet Earth and reverently carry on the tradition of doughnut making in a manner that is both innovative and ethical.” Some may remember the duo from their appearance this year at the Vegetarian Food Festival’s doughnut eating contest.

My eyes are on the Raspberry Pistachio and Strawberry Kiwi doughnuts, but which of their vast options will you try?
