Award-winning musician, DJ, and activist Moby, along with restaurateur Ravi DeRossi, have opened up a new vegan cocktail bar, Ladybird in New York City’s East Village just this week! DeRossi has been working towards converting all 15 of his restaurants and bars into vegan businesses and asked Moby to come on as an investor for Ladybird. Moby is also an investor of Little Pine, a successful vegan restaurant in Los Angeles, California and has been vegan for over 30 years himself.
The all-vegan cocktail and small plates bar seats 50 and is designed in white, gold, and teal tones with ornate lighting. Beautiful!
According to Eater NY, menu options include Brussels sprouts with endive, apple, quinoa, and a soy-truffle vinaigrette, kale with pickled daikon, radish, puffed rice, and black garlic and a breaded and fried eggplant with tomato sauce, basil, and vegan ricotta. Yum!
“Sometimes, one of the best ways of promoting plant based eating is by serving people wonderful food in a beautiful space,” Moby said in a statement about the opening of Ladybird. We couldn’t agree more, Moby!
Plant-based eating is no longer the fringe trend it once was, thanks to compassionate celebrities like Moby. A recent study revealed that nearly 40 percent of Americans are choosing to avoid meat entirely when eating out at restaurants and are picking plant-based options instead!
Ladybird is open from 5 pm to 2 am every night, starting September 5, 2017. For their full menu and for more information, visit their website.
