When Hope for Paws received a call about a small dog living near a retirement home, Lisa Arturo and JoAnn Wiltz headed out to rescue the little guy. It was a good thing they arrived when they did … it was only a matter of time before he got hit by a car! According to the locals, the dog’s guardian passed away, leaving him to survive on his own. Thankfully, his luck was about to change.

The Chihuahua ended up running into a driveway, providing the perfect opportunity for Lisa and JoAnn to catch him. After talking to the homeowners and securing the exit, Lisa was able to place the lucky leash around his neck. On the freedom ride back, he was given the name Yoda, which was perfect — just check out those adorable ears! He also realized he was finally safe and took advantage with a much-needed nap.
