Known for her roles in the popular reality television shows, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Vanderpump Rules, and SUR, Lisa Vanderpump is no stranger to being in the spotlight. Thankfully, she is using her fame and fortune to help save the world’s dogs with her charity, The Vanderpump Dog Foundation, which has launched a momentous animal rights campaign called Stop Yulin Forever.
With several adorable dogs of her own, Vanderpump has often expressed her love for canines, recently she shows this love in the form of a petition on Care2, demanding an end to the annual Yulin Dog Meat Festival in China. According to the petition, over 10,000 dogs and puppies were mercilessly mistreated and slaughtered in the festival from 2014-16, many of whom were kidnapped from their homes for a profit. The 2017 festival is set to begin at the summer solstice in June, so there is still time to take action and stop this senseless tragedy from becoming yet another reality.
Please take a moment to sign the petition addressed to China’s president, Xi Jinping, urging him and China’s government to pay heed to global opinion and end the senseless cruelty to animals that is the Yulin Dog Meat Festival. Your opinion does count, and public outcry has already led to countries like Taiwan banning the consumption of dog and cat meat.
You can visit the Stop Yulin Forever Facebook page to stay updated on their work and learn how you can join them in the fight against the dog meat trade. There are still many people who have no idea the Yulin Dog Meat Festival exists, so please share this post and encourage others to join you in signing the petition to end the Yulin Dog Meat Festival once and for all.
