The Kangaroo Sanctuary Alice Springs must be one of the loveliest places in the world – or at least that is the impression we get from this video of little kangaroos enjoying their mealtime.
The joeys all huddle up in a nice little group, drink their milk from several bottles, and nobody even thinks to push or shove. To make it all ever sweeter, they put their front paws around each other and snuggle up in a cuddle huddle.
But that is still not all – in the arms of the caretaker, the smallest roo is cocooned safely in a little blanket and looks around curiously as her older friends come together for the meal. “It’s rewarding being a wildlife carer,” says the caretaker and, judging from this little glimpse into the everyday life at the kangaroo at the rescue, it sure seems like the most wonderful thing to be!
The Kangaroo Sanctuary was established to be a refuge for all kangaroos that cannot be released into the wild. Today, the rescue’s mission is also to save, rehabilitate, and release orphaned baby kangaroos.
