Animal shelters can be a traumatic environment for dogs and cats. They don’t understand why they are there, who all these new people are or why it’s so loud and scary. That’s one of the reasons deciding to foster a dog or a cat from your local animal shelter or rescue is so important. You’ll help show them that not all humans are cruel all while they de-stress from the shelter. Sometimes, though, foster parents need a helping hand… or in this case, a helping paw!

That’s why Harlow the dog and her little buddies Indiana, and Reese are on a mission to provide comfort to all the needy foster dogs of the world! Harlow’s family fosters with Nuzzles and Co and these sweet pups love to help get fosters ready for their forever homes.

Whenever there is a new batch of foster pups in the house, Harlow is there to show them the ropes. Stairs can be scary!

She is always available to lend a hug to foster pups, too!

Harlow and Reese also supervise puppy play time. Adorable!

And then it’s back to nap time!

Harlow and her team should be proud because the most recent batch of foster puppies all got adopted! Well done!

Are you feeling ready to foster animals yourself? By committing to be a foster, you could give a needy dog or cat a vacation from the shelter – plus, that would help the animal shelter free up space to save another animal! Nearly half of all animals that arrive in U.S. shelters are euthanized because of a lack of space and adopters, so opening up your home to an animal is a great way to help end the pet overpopulation crisis! Check with your local animal shelter to see what requirements they have to become a foster parent.
