It is anyone’s guess how much time Roxy has spent roaming the streets alone and trying to ignore the pain from her severe skin infection. All she had was a tattered old sweater, proof “that some kindness was extended to her at some point in her life.” Fortunately, the streets are no longer home for this sweet Pit Bull mix.

A kind person wrapped gauze around Roxy’s neck then he put the dog in the back of a pickup truck and brought her to a shelter. Roxy’s caretaker really wanted to help her, but he did not know that the shelter was not a guarantee of a happy ending. As a severely injured Pit Bull, at a high-kill shelter, Roxy would almost certainly be euthanized.

Thankfully, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC agreed to take this sweet soul and she is now en route to the organization’s Texas vet where she will receive medical care.

You can help Roxy by donating to her medical care here or via PayPal to [email protected] To learn more about Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, click here.
