Sky was found roaming the streets of South Texas and one look at her was enough to tell that this poor dog could not have been left on her own any longer. Clearly suffering because of her painfully visible skin condition, she was picked up by animal control. But the next stop on her journey turned out to be a very undesirable one – a kill shelter where dogs with ailments like hers are frequently euthanized. Fortunately, rescuers from Rescue Dogs Rock NYC learned about Sky in time, and they are now giving her a second chance at a life!

It is clear from Sky’s current condition that she has been severely neglected. Her skin is infected and was left untreated for so long that it has turned “necrotic and black like tar.”

Sky’s coat, which must have once been full and beautiful, is now riddled with bald patches. The pup is missing most of her hair, she is weak and lethargic, but her rescuers hope to change that as soon as possible.

Once under the care of the rescue, Sky was rushed to Rescue Dogs Rock NYC’s Texas Vet Partner to receive life-saving medical care. “We know you would agree, Sky deserves everything we possibly can give her to bring her to a place of health and peace,” her caretakers write.

You can help Sky recover by making a donation to her medical care here. To learn more about Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, click here.

There is no hope in stories of the one who got away, while millions of dogs are murdered/year in the kill shelters of dominion...

Why are there kill shelters at all... what kind of a culture, religious tradition would allow for such destruction of living beings... dogs, who cherish their lives just as humans do.

Why does no one ever question the existence of kill shelters? Perhaps they have been taught that obedience is best by the enforcers of dominion - rabbis, priests, ministers... they have been taught to go along... play by the rules of dominion.... as millions of dogs and cats are tossed into the trash every year... the debris of dominion.
