100 new words have made made their way into the 2012 edition of the Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary and provide a revealing look at American culture.
The word “flexitarian” joins the list with F-Bomb, brain cramp, e-reader, sexting, game changer, bucket list, man cave, mash-up, life coach and 90 other new words.
The word flexitarian, traced to 1998, has been defined as “one whose normally meatless diet occasionally includes meat or fish”
In case you were wondering, Webster’s defines the word “vegan” as “a strict vegetarian who consumes no animal food or dairy products.”
Hey editors of Webster’s…while you’re at it, why not define “Excusetarian” as well!
