For the fourth year in a row, New York City charity organization Chilis on Wheels will be hosting a vegan Thanksgiving Community Feast in Tompkins Square Park on Thanksgiving Day (November 22, 2018). During this heart- and tummy-warming event, selfless volunteers will be serving up a delicious spread of free vegan food to those in need of a warm meal and friendly folks to spend Thanksgiving Day with.

In addition to the distribution of hearty vegan food to thousands of people, the community gathering will include a coat and clothing drive, a kids’ area, and an information booth where New Yorkers can get any questions they may have about veganism answered. Local community and social service resources, as well as personal care packages filled with cruelty-free products, will also be available.

Just as it has been in years past, this annual event will be completely funded by donations and made possible by the hard work of dedicated volunteers from the organization. In turn, Chilis On Wheels needs your help to make their amazing yearly act of community outreach possible.

As the holiday season approaches, the charity is collecting donations on CrowdRise to help cover the costs of acquiring a permit to set up in Tompkins Square Park, getting the required health certification for the event, and of course purchasing food and supplies for the day of sharing with people in need.

If you are able, please consider contributing to this very worthy cause here. Chilis On Wheels has already received many generous donations, but they still need a little more help to reach their goal and make their 2018 vegan Thanksgiving Community Feast a success. The organization has been lucky enough to receive a $5,000 match grant, which means that every dollar you donate will be doubled (up to $5,000).
