Who needs a guard dog when you can have two protective guard cats? When Erin was a newborn, her parents posted a video of their two Burmese cats snuggling and keeping a close eye on the newest sibling. The two grey kitties made a heck of a cozy napping situation out of an otherwise boring blanket for the baby. Fast forward over six years, and Erin is still sleeping with her two best buds. Erin’s Dad says that the cats had no problem balancing yet another newborn when Erin’s little sister came into the picture. It also turns out the cats are great cuddle companions for not only napping, but TV viewing as well.

Having pets has so many benefits for people of all ages. Raising kids with pets has been proven to have tons of awesome perks – including a stronger immune system and less chance of respiratory issues. Not to mention, what kid wouldn’t love growing up with an animal best friend (or two)? Just remember, like Erin’s parents, keep a close watch when kids and animals are playing or napping together.

My parents also found a kitten when I was one year old. He was also 1 year old. He did when we were 12; That was my biggest sorrow. I couldn\'t stop crying! I have never more cried like that.

I don't see much guarding going on but plenty of finding a warm place to sleep. Not sure I'd be happy with them so close to the baby, it's not unheard of for a cat to accidentally smother a baby.

Animals can inadvertently smoother a baby like that.

I've had my cat 18 years and she still guards me, lies on my head and trusts me deeply x
