Kenny arrived at Los Angeles, Calif. canine physical rehabilitation center Two Hands Four Paws in April of this year on the brink of euthanasia. Veterinarians had suggested that he be put down because his injuries were so severe, but this outcome did not sit well with Kenny’s initial rescue group and Two Hands Four Paws, both of whom saw hope and resilience in Kenny.
When he came to Two Hands Four Paws he was in poor shape, suffering from a neck injury that left his four legs completely paralyzed.
According to the canine rehab center, the first month of Kenny’s rehabilitation was unsuccessful as he still had to be carried everywhere and couldn’t even urinate on his own. He also developed a cancerous tumor and pneumonia, taking him back to the hospital.
To help pay for medical costs, $9,000 was raised by caring animal lovers from around the world, $6,000 of which came from the Bill Foundation village.
Kenny pushed through his medical hurdles and came back to Two Hands Four Paws fully recovered. Then another amazing thing happened: after three hours of daily physical therapy ranging from exercises to acupuncture for almost six months, Kenny finally stood up on his four legs and took his first steps all by himself!
Witness Kenny’s amazing miracle transformation below.
