Most Americans believe that the best source of dietary calcium, an esteemed nutrient for its ability to build strong bones, is from dairy. For many, it may seem like a no-brainer to include dairy in a healthy diet, but science now shows that dairy is unnecessary for adequate calcium consumption. In fact, new research from the Harvard School of Medicine concluded that milk may not be the best source of dietary calcium. The good news is that non-dairy sources of calcium are abundant. Calcium is naturally found in many foods besides dairy products.

Almond milk has 50% more calcium than dairy, anyway. Great infographic.

I agree with you Micheal Michael Nelson and need to add this. I've lived in parts of the world where all creatures contribute to a healthy and harmonious society do to life circumstances. People that have no good and need to feed their children as well as their animals. They develop close relationships with their animals to the point where they wouldn't do anything to harm them. This does not equate to the north american commercial way of over consumption and over stepping the animals rights. When you leave the industrial world and visit places that actually care about every c creature, you start to open your eyes IMO.

I appreciate the began lifestyle yet I still think certain things are meant to be. Cows give milk for a reason but the way the milk is collected makes it OK or not to drink. I don't like commercial farms because they plow over ever single piece of morality there is on their industries but a farmers who treats it's cattle with respect and love to do things organically and with care, that I support.

Cows give milk for one reason and that's to feed their babies. ☺
