Calen May-Tobin, lead analyst for the Union of Concerned Scientists’ (UCS) palm oil work, conducts research on palm-related deforestation and how to reduce the land-use carbon footprint of the palm oil industry. Calen also conducts analyses for UCS Tropical Forest and Climate Initiative, including work on legislative issues relating to illegal logging and research on reducing emissions from tropical deforestation and land-use change. Calen holds a M.S. in ecology from the University of California, Irvine.
